The Dunedin City Council is exploring new ways to revitalise Dunedin Railways Limited and the Taieri Gorge train service.
The company’s locomotives and carriages would be brought out of hibernation temporarily to provide the service,
Dunedin Venues Management, Taieri Gorge Railway and Dunedin Airport have helped boost Dunedin Council coffers.
Due to damage caused by the recent rain event in the South Island, The Taieri Gorge Railway, operated by Dunedin Railways will not be operating its scheduled excursions over the next ten days.
