More than 200,000 cruise passengers are expected to stop in Wellington for the 2023/24 cruise season, says CentrePort.
CentrePort posted an underlying net profit after tax of $7.2m for the year to June 2021, down 51% compared to the $14.7m recorded in FY20.
Wellington’s CentrePort made a $2.3m loss for the year to June despite its vehicles and cruise businesses up 32% and 12% respectively on the previous period.
The arrival today of Radiance of the Seas in Wellington marks the start of the summer cruise season in the capital which is expected to inject around $65m into the regional economy.
