The architects behind Taupō Airport, Te Kaaroro Nature Precinct and the Sir Howard Morrison Centre have received accolades for their work at the The 2023 Te Kahui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects Bay of Plenty and Waikato Awards.
A $29m government investment in Taupō’s economic resilience has been completed with the official opening of the Town Centre Transformation project, airport terminal and Eastern Arterial Shared Path.
Taupō Airport’s revamped terminal is welcoming its first passengers today following the completion of a $9.2m renovation of the building.
Taupō District Council will introduce parking charges at Taupō Airport when the new terminal opens in December.
Taupō Airport has recorded more than 22,000 passengers through its doors in the first half of 2022, and numbers could exceed 50,000 before 2023.
